Error

The backup fails with an error like this:

[BackupSetCmd.uploadBackupFiles][java.lang.RuntimeException] Error=[RuntimeException] [BackupFileIterator.Combined.hasNext] Throwable=[Bptree.KeyRangeIterator.hasNext] Error=[ABlock.parse] Cannot parse file

It was first seen on version 7.13.0.6 of the Server software, mostly on first-time backups. If you’re on an older version, update to the latest version first.

Cause

The backup set’s index structure file is damaged.

Fix

Delete the temporary files, force an index rebuild, then run a manual backup:

  1. Make sure no backups are running and the backup set’s temporary directory is empty.
  2. Close the BOBcloud software.
  3. Stop the Windows service Server Services (server) or Desktop Services (desktop).
  4. Edit C:\Program Files\serverbackup\cb.opt and change this line from:
    com.ahsay.cloudbacko.core.bset.file.RemoteBDB.forceRebuild=
    to:
    com.ahsay.cloudbacko.core.bset.file.RemoteBDB.forceRebuild=true
  5. Start the Windows service again.
  6. Run the backup once.
  7. When it finishes, close the BOBcloud software.
  8. Change the line in cb.opt back to com.ahsay.cloudbacko.core.bset.file.RemoteBDB.forceRebuild=. Otherwise every backup will rebuild the index again.
  9. Run the backup again to check the problem is fixed.
